I’m passionate about language.
I was born in Guatemala, Central America where, from a young age, my education was in both Spanish and English. Working with languages from so young meant that it soon became my passion. After university I worked as an advertising copywriter. As English is the language of advertising, and has more flexibility than Spanish, I was often asked to translate between the two languages.
From this work I discovered the importance of understanding the nuances of language and the impact that culture has upon the way we communicate. I also realised that I preferred translating to advertising.
I moved to London over years ago where I took my love of languages a step further by studying an MA in Interpreting. This meant that I could also offer interpreting services to my clients, as well as translation. And because interpreting involves speaking clearly and confidently my clients soon began asking me to do voice over work for them, so I extended my skills to offer this service too. For the last seven years,I have been sharing my time between Madrid and London.
My education lead naturally to teaching. And, in addition to being an interpreter translator and voice over artist, I’m also a Spanish lecturer for Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpreting in the MA Translation at University of Westminster, London.
’ve worked with many clients covering several industries. Some are major brands; some are small individual clients. But, whatever the size of the job, I always give the highest level of attention, detail and professionalism.
